B - reporting

Did some laundry this morning - well, handed the bag to the staff here who do a service wash. The continual cycle (pun! haha) of dirty washing is one of the things I never really thought of before this trip, but without a laundrette it really becomes a pressing concern. I should get into the habit of washing the day's clothes each night, but I bet I won't...

Anyway, washing hung up, we went downtown to find the Natural History Museum. The museum was really interesting, with a large display of dinosaur bones, and nests of dinosaur eggs. I had no idea that Mongolia was so dinosaur-y. There was also an endearing room celebrating famous Mongolians - the first Mongolian in space! The first Mongolian to climb Everest...go to the South Pole (illustrated by a stuffed penguin).

Museumed out, we went on our ongoing quest for stickers, to stick to the side of Swiss. And as in Russia, we could not find any. A million fridge magnets, but no stickers. After braving to roads, we found Millie's Espresso cafe (full of ex-pat consultants and teachers) and had lunch.

We got back to the Oasis in time to take our washing out of the rain! We arranged it damply round the car, and had dinner and a beer with fellow guests Hans and Thea, also heading towards the Gobi desert. After discussing routes we agreed to travel together, and arranged to start at the crack of 10 tomorrow.
