B – reporting
We needed to see if we could find a new radiator today, or we would order one from Toyota Dallas which would mean waiting around for at least a week. First we tried the second hand car market, which is enormous: rows and rows and rows of shipping containers, full of car parts. Shocks, leaf springs, wheels, bumpers...but no Toyota radiators.
We then crossed the insane traffic to Bodi Toyota, where we explained what we needed. The engineer said, bring the car. So we walked back to the Oasis (3.5km) and drove to Bodi. They wanted to old radiator, and we tried to explain that we needed the car back at the Oasis as we sleep in it. So we drove back, G took the radiator out, and we walked back to Bodi, very hot and dusty by now.
Then the parts lady appeared with a brand new radiator! All the mechanics were by now interested, sitting outside with us and chatting. The new radiator was the right size, and they even drove us back to the Oasis!
We celebrated with a beer, burger and chips (fries, if you will).
