G - Reporting

Long drive and border day today so we started with a detour in the wrong direction! To go see one of the oldest sites of an iron foundry on the east coast turned out to be pretty interesting and worth the detour then to try and make up some time we cut across county on the forest roads which was very pretty if a little rough and as they are mixed use there is a charge for using them of $20! But it saved us a ton of time and now I can say I’ve done some back country in the Appalachian Mountains.

We finally emerged back into civilization at a place called Moose Lake again you guessed it a pretty Maine town, and after a quick look round a coffee and a bumper sticker we made for the border.

I had one last surprise before we got out of Maine a Moose and Calf crossed the road behind the truck I only got a glimpse but after driving through some of the most moose infested provinces in Canada with no sightings it was a result.

The border was easy apart from the Americans decided to question us and have a rifle though our truck before we could leave the county all very strange no idea why and it’s not something you ask!

Once across the trusty GPS got us straight to our hotel and after a long day that was enough we just chilled in the room for the night.
