B - reporting
Today I was the easternmost person on the continent of North America, and also saw puffins! A very cool day.
We booked a trip on the Molly Bawn, a converted 35' fishing boat. Before departure we chatted to the owner, who had the best Newfie accent, and was also a very charming guy. Plus, puffins! They are ever so sweet, and really tough little feathery bastards. After hatching in April-ish, they head out to sea in the fall and don't return to land for 3 years. Then they nest in a large colony of puffins and other seabirds, squawking and diving and generally flapping around eating fish.*
After a final visit to St John's for souvenirs and coffee, we headed back to the campsite for some laundering and another delicious BBQ meat - not mystery meat, but beef! Camping in Canada, though more expensive than the bush camping of Siberia, Mongolia and Kazakhstan, has enabled us to eat way, way better.
* Mr Attenborough, I am available for voice over work at any time.
