G - Reporting

Awoke to find we had neighbors: two English guys on BMWs they had been stuck in Vladivostok for over a month waiting for their bikes!

Had a chat about how they where getting on with getting by in Russia then we were on our way the last 250k into Khabarovsk, we decided to spend one night in a hotel so we could have a look around and also to pick a few little things that we had realized we needed after the 1st night camping - eg matches!

So we headed to the 1st hotel on our list the Hotel Amur (3100 Rubles) a little on the high side but it’s a nice room so dumped our bags and  went out for a walk down to the river though a tree lined boulevard arriving at the water front which was full of stalls selling snack food, beer tents and Russian enjoying their weekend all very nice, and pleasant change from the construction zone that was Vladivostok.

After headed back to the hotel via a supermarket to get some food upon returning found Howell (from Vlad)’s bike in the parking lot so texted him and found he was on the same floor as us small world!
Howell waxed lyrical about all the museums and the market here and said we should really try and stay another day, so we decided to, what the hell when we be here next!
Went out for dinner with Howell got turned away from a sushi place so ended up at a sort of biker bar with a Nigerian barman, had BBQ pork with a few 1664 whites and ended the evening with a stroll around town.

All in all a good day.
Mornings need coffee - even if it comes in a small hot can!

Khabarovsk! - After 800 or so Km our 2nd big Russian city.

The water front - The tents in the background are all beer tents :-)

Russian Church
